Series VI: Academia, 1945-1992

Series VI: Academia, 1945-1992, is arranged chronologically and contains essays, art and book catalogs, letters, brochures, and financial reports. The materials are divided into two subseries, Subseries I: Historical, 1948-1983 and Subseries II: Wilkes College related materials, 1945-1992. The first subseries includes documents related to art and academia such as essays, art and book catalogs, letters, and financial reports, many of which relate to Princeton University that had professional connections with Wilkes Board of Trustees member Gilbert Stuart McClintock. The second subseries are documents related to Wilkes College and the Gilbert S. McClintock collection particularly. These documents include financial reports, savings bonds, publications, correspondences, brochures, and catalogs all related to Wilkes College or the McClintock collection. Gilbert S. McClintock was involved at Princeton University through donations, financial and artifacts, personal associations, and his own attendance at Princeton where he graduated in 1908. Documents such as financial reports of Princeton do not mention him by name, however an archivist or librarian wrote his name on them. It is likely that he had made donations to Princeton at the time of these reports. Other donations he made to Princeton include a vast collection of Italian artifacts. His connection with Wilkes College was even stronger as he was a Board of Trustees member, made extensive donations, and was generally very involved in finances. Wilkes College related materials like financial reports, Board of Trustees reports, and a catalog of items donated mostly all have a relation to McClintock.
