The following item depicts a letter and accompanying envelope page, dated May 30, 1829, by James Monroe, the 5th president of the United States to Jonah Ringgold, delivered by Mr. L. Rogers. The letter mentions Monroe having received a previous letter Monroe has sent to Ringgold by Rogers. He mentions wanting to see Ringgold and his daughters in the future.

I have no– -thing [nothing] now to add to that letter. We hope to see you with your daughters, as soon as you may be able— your friend— James Monroe.
