Description:

The following item depicts an engraving by John Wesly Paradise, circa early-mid nineteenth century, of a painting by Asher Brown Durand of John Quincy Adams, circa early-mid nineteenth century. John Quincy Adams signed his name below the portrait. In the portrait, Quincy Adam’s depiction presents a bust-length figure with white, slicked back hair, a dark overcoat buttoned down the front, a white undershirt, black sash around his neck with a vest. The dates for the painting and engraving have been estimated by the life dates of both John Wesley Paradise and Asher Brown Durand.
