Description:

The following item depicts a letter by Joseph Knox Walker to Miss Sarah Hollenback Cist, dated April 20, 1848. In the letter, he writes that he is pleased to send her the autograph of James K. Polk, the 11th president of the United States. Joseph Knox Walker is the nephew of the president, who also served as his private secretary.
