Description:
The letter dated February 26, 1860, written by Andrew Johnson, the 17th president of the United States, to a recipient addressed as “Friend Larry.” In the letter, Johnson is writing about the recent applicants from Hawkins County. He states that he will share no comment on the recent letter by a Mr. Edmond, for he believes his recipient will know better what to do with their applications. The reason or situation for their applications is not addressed and we do not have the Edmond letter to reference.
