Description:

The following engraving by Charles Schlecht depicts a portrait of Rutherford B. Hayes, the 19th president of the United States. In the image, Hayes is depicted in a bust-length portrait. He is wearing a black overcoat, matching neck tie, and white undershirt. He has a cropped hair style and long beard. Beneath the image, Hayes has signed the engraving with a signoff, “Sincerely, H. B. Hayes.” The date for the engraving has been estimated by the life dates of Schlecht.
