March 27th 1893 Benjamin Harrison 674 North Delaware Street, Indianapolis, Ind.
Rev S. Edward Young Asbury Park, N.J. My dear sir: I have your letter of the 24th inst[ant]. I regret that I cannot promise to comply with your request, especially in view of the fact that it has been renewed for several years. I have been refusing all sorts of invitations to deliver addresses and to attend meetings. I made up my mind before leaving Washington to devote the spring and summer to rest, absolutely. Any address, even a brief and informal character
Second Page: involves some wear and tear with me and I think you will appreciate that I need to settle my nerves a little. Very truly yours, Benj[amin] Harrison
