Description:
The following letter, dated April 27, 1907, is written by Ellen Louise Axson Wilson, the wife and first lady of Woodrow Wilson, the 28th president of the United States, to Charles William Penrose. In the letter, Wilson is accepting an invitation as patroness of the Charter Club’s upcoming dance on May the 24th.

My dear M. Penrose
It gives me great
pleasure to accept the kind
invitation of the Charter
Club & act as a Patroness
for their dance on Friday
evening May the twenty
fourth.
