Description:
The letter dated May 5, 1958, is written by Harry S. Truman, the 33rd president of the United States, to Julian Parks Boyd, a prominent professor of history in Princeton. In the letter, Truman is writing to Boyd to inform him of his beginning the Jefferson Papers. He states that he is impressed with what he has read so far and thanks him for the copy Boyd sent.

Thanks to your continuing kindness to me, I have received the latest and fourteenth volume of The Papers of Thomas Jefferson from the Princeton University Press.
As yet, I have had a chance to read only your Foreword, which impressed me. It is one of the finest statements of its kind that I have ever read. Sincerely yours, Harry Truman
