Clorr Dutchess County New York Jany 20. 1828- Hon. Chester Butter, Benj.A. Bidlack + others a committee of and in behalf of the Wyoming sufferers Mijors- My attention has been called to the proceedings of a meeting of the Wyoming sufferers held at Wilkesbarre Nov. 7. 1827 - as published in the Republican Farmer of Nov. 15- by a Mrs. Nopull of this plan, at whose request I write this letter- The maiden name of this woman was Catherine Matherson: The father’s name was Constant Matherson one of the Wyoming letters, and enlisted early in the regular service and was filled at mud fort Nov 1777 - at which time, who his only child was an infant some four month old, with his mother in the sentiment - They afterwards made this escape the day before the massacre in 1778- and found their way to this county, after having suffered wrry [sic] thing but death; and here her mother did some years ago, + the remains still among the

living; mother she nor her mother, are returned to Wyoming, nor did they are obtain any just of this property, or formation, of which, they were as she was informed by her mother, proposal of at the time to a considerable amount - She is now the wife of harman ropid and the mother of a large family of children - They are in lore circumstances, lu being worth perhaps $1000 in all - he is upwards of 70 years old and she 60- After reading the memorial + proceedings of your meeting I do not know that any thing is to be, or ought to be done by her to further the fight of your memorial to congress- I have however written a letter to the Hou. O. Litus member of Congress from this district requesting his attention to the subject - If any thing is required of me and you will please to medieate [sic] it to me, it shall be allinans to me the most prompt outcome
