Description:
This letter was written by an unknown individual to “Sir” in regards to an arrangement of a meeting between different people from Pennsylvania counties to meet about a settlement. The settlement seems to be about the ownership of land. The author firmly believes that he and others should keep the title of their lands.

Philadelphia the 9th of March 1787
Sir
I here with transmit to you a coppy (sic) of letter which I sent to the speaker of the assembley (sic) with the petitions which was signed by our settlers was emediatly (sic) taken up by the house a competter (sic) appointed after the second reading of the petition to take the matter into consideration and make report there onto the assembly the foregoing was Done on the 6th instant, on the 7th Colonel Pickering and myself was caled (sic) on to wate (sic) on the committee of 4 o clock and accordingly meet them at the time appointed who are as foloweth (sic) /viz/ Mr Finley of Westmoreland county Mr. G Glimer of Philadelphia and Robart Brown of Northhamton mr Hubley of of Lankestor and mr Afen Koop of Bucks County and give them an account of the situation of the settlement and advanst (sic) some argements (sic) why we shold (sic) have the title of our land absoutely (sic) confairned to us free gratis, I must Say that Colo’n Pickering is active and holds up Every reasonable agreement in favour (sic) of out title and spears no pains to bring the matter to a reasonable settlement. What the event will be I cannot say but things he {missing} to have a fair prospect and I make no doubt but that the assembly design to do that which will be judged just and reasonable in the eyes of the world but wheather (sic) it
