Title:
Lehigh Township - Lackawanna County 1958 Proposed Budget
Description:
The following item, dated 1958, depicts a typed budget report of Lehigh and Lackawanna Township, including various tax documents and receipts. This report is missing the cover and the first page. In this budget proposal the author analyzes money spent by the township in 1957 to make a budget for the new year. In the pages we have of this report the amount of money collected by the township from taxes are examined. These taxes fall under a title called the Liquid fuels tax, and looks at the total mileage of roads to be maintained and the proposed expenditures. They anticipated an increase of revenue from real estate tax, but a decrease in other areas that were not specified. The total estimated expenditures for 1958 are $6,362, compared with the actual expenditures of 1957, which were $5, 864. There was a cash balance for 1957 of $3,786.
