The following item, dated February 19, 1958, depicts a brief report printed by the Pennsylvania Economy League, titled a “Tentative Budget, 1958, Lehigh Township Supervisors, Lackawanna County, PA.” This report offers an independent organization’s lens to review the spending of local governments. It is presented with the intention that this information will aid them in improving their spending and make more effective plans for use. In this report they review the amount of revenue Lehigh Township made through taxes in 1957. The report breaks down assessed valuation of the year, their tax rate, and the revenue anticipated. They used this information to craft a budget for the Township to follow for 1958.
