Description:
The letter was authored on an unknown date by French woman of letters and political theorist, Germaine de Staël, to an unidentified “Monsieur Becker”. In the letter, Germaine de Stael is writing to Mr. Becker to share that his acquaintence has been highly given to her by a Mr. Sehovans-Hosft(?), and she is asking to meet in the afternnon before she leaves.
Germaine de Stael’s wit and literary abilities were said to have stimulated the political and intellectual life of her times, challenging oppressive structures, and even contesting Napoleon's motivations and actions through her letters.
