Title:
Ex Libris Franc Anderle 1902
Description:
A bookplate featuring an image of a viewing telescope with a railroad bridge in the background along with musical notes at the top of the bookplate. The song is being sung by a woman (contralto). The name of the song is Piano Sonata No. 28 Allegretto Ma Non Troppo by Beethoven. Ludwig Van Beethoven was a composer and piano player from Germany and is one of the most famous musicians in the west. The bookplate was created by graphic designer and painter Alfred Roller (1865-1935), one of the founders of the Viennese Secession, which was an art movement closely related to Art Nouveau formed in 1897 by a group of Austrian painters, graphic artists, sculptors, and architects.
