The Rt Honble Isaac Barre

Description:

The bookplate has a coat of arms with an Eagle and vines on it with the caption underneath “The Righteous and Honorable Isaac Barre.” There’s also a note that says “Isaac Barre, au transfer and bookplate.? Isaac Barre was an Anglo-Irish soldier and politician. He served in the British Army during the Seven Years war. He coined the term “Sons of Liberty” in reference to American colonists opposed to Britain’s government policies. He became a prominent member of Parliament and vigorously opposed taxation in the American colonies, which was also supported by William Pitt.
