Description:
A bookplate of Henry Harrison Harvey. There is a shield with a lion on top that is surrounded by a keystone. There are books in the top part of the keystone.There is text below the shield that reads “Faites ce que l’honneur exige” which translates to “Do what honor demands.” There is text above the shield that reads “Anno Domini MDCCCCX” which translates to “In the year of our lord 1810.” Bookplate collection Henry Harrison Harvey was born in 1811 in Illinois. He got married to Rachel Ellis on October 10, 1839 in McLean County, Illinois. He had four children, William H. Harvey, Temperance Harvey Pugh, Andrew Jackson Harvey, and Martha Ellen Harvey Newman. He died on November 24, 1846 in Linn County, Iowa and was buried at Oliphant Cemetery.
