Title:
From the Books of R.M. Kearsley
Description:
A decorative bookplate featuring an alphabet and a bird. There are numbers on the book as well and it’s upside down as well. There is a banner above the book that reads “Unquibus et Rostro” which translates to “Somewhere and in the face.” Bookplate creator Herman Frederick Hager was born on April 23, 1871 in Germany. He was married to Estella Viola McLean Hager. He died on September 21, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan. Bookplate collector Rebecca Margaret Kearsley was born on November 28, 1866 in Bucyrus, Ohio. Her father was Edmund Roberts Kearsley and her mother was Martha C. Sweeney. She got married to Elmer L. White on August 17, 1886. They had one child together, Sara Margaret White who was born on September 24, 1888. Kearsley died on April 19, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan.
