Description:
A bookplate featuring an open window. There are mountains and a city out the window. On the bottom of the image, there is a hand holding a book with text that reads “Mens Immota Manet” which translates to “The mind remains immovable.” Bookplate collector Kate Meldram Buss was born May 20, 1879 in Medford, Massachusetts. Buss was a journalist for the Boston Evening Transcript. Some of her works include Jevons Block (1917), and Studies in the Chinese Drama (1922). She died in 1943 in Medford, Massachusetts and was buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford, Massachusetts.
