Title:

Aequini Mitas Jean Ricketts Her Book

Description:

A bookplate depicting a pine tree with stars above it with text above it that reads “Aequini Mitas” and below it is text that reads “Jean Rickets her book.” Jean Ricketts was known for being a “descendant of colonial settlers.” Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Ricketts, who died in 1919. Her predecessors were known for being some of the “first white settlers of New England.” They traveled to the Wyoming Valley some time before the Battle of Wyoming and according to history, they were a part of it. Despite spending some time in California, Ricketts lived in Wilkes-Barre her whole life. She was a part of First Presbyterian Church, and was a part of a lot of charities. She was a beloved member of her community. Her family includes her brother, William R. Ricketts, and her Sister Mrs. William McLean. She died at 55 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
