Description:

This is the minutes that tells of the motions voted on during a meeting held in Wilkes-Barre on October 2nd 1772. This specific meeting discusses who will be collecting money for the building of a road to Dellawar. Major Ezekiel Pierce and Zebulon Butler were also appointed on a committee to provide a habitation for Rev. Jacob Johnson for the winter. For more context, in the year 1772 proprietors were establishing a local government.Town meetings were called and legislation was enacted. Many of the people discussed in the document were later appointed directors of the town they resided in. Wilkes-barre--Maj. John Durkee, Capt.
