Description:

This letter is from Colonel Hunt to John Sedgwick on January 16, 1862. This is a military letter in which there is no context provided making it difficult to decipher what it means. The creator of this letter, Leavitt Hunt, was born in Vermont in 1830. He studied at Harvard, went on to become an attorney and photography pioneer, traveling to many countries making one of the earliest photographic records of the ancient and Arab worlds.
