Description:
This is a letter from Levi Parsons Morton to S. Edward Young on June 18, 1892. The letter informs Young that he can not attend the event. The author of this letter, Levi Morton, was born in Vermont in 1824. Morton served as the United States ambassador to France, the 22nd vice president of the U.S., and governor of New York. He was also elected to the House of Representatives twice. At the time of this letter, Morton was serving as Vice President of the United States. Young asks for his attendance to an event, which he respectfully declines, likely due to commitments associated with his office.
