Description:
This is a letter from Charles Sumner to a board of members on August 6, 1860. This letter is in reference to books that need to be ordered. The creator of this letter, Charles Sumner, was born in Massachusetts in 1811. Sumner served in the U.S. Senate where he chaired the Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee. Within this letter, Sumner addresses William Pennington, ex-governor of New Jersey and ex-Speaker of the House regarding books that he and other gentlemen ordered.
