Description:

The second letter is from Geoffrey to Street on July 5, 1868. The letter rejects the request from the first based on the limited number of available spots. The creator of the first letter, Charles Van Wyck, was a U.S. Senator and a member of the House of Representatives. The recipient of the second letter, Alfred Street, was born in New York in 1811. Street would study law with his father but eventually become a poet and an author. es. He also fought during the Civil War as an Union Army general.
