Description:

Autograph from Major General Hancock. Hancock was born in Pennsylvania in 1824. He is most notably known for his leadership in the Battle of Gettysburg. Hancock was a big supporter of states’ rights and was considered a unionist. He is memorialized in a number of equestrian statues in Pennsylvania and New York. Fort Hancock in New Jersey and Fort Hancock in Texas are both named after Winfield Hancock.
