Title:
Deer Being Fed On McClintock Property
Description:
The following item depicts a newspaper article entitled, “Deer Being Fed On McClintock Property,” published in an unknown newspaper, most likely during the mid twentieth century, between 1940-1950. The article depicts three white tail does feeding on a snowy landscape. The property depicted in the McClintock’s home in Bear Lake, owned at the time by Gilbert Stuart McClintock. In the article, they explain that the apples are being fed to the deer by the caretaker of the property, Henry Kretchmer. There was a previous state wide appeal by the Wild-Life authority, an office concerned by how the wild-life will access food during the harsher winter season. The newspaper mentions that Kretchmer has taken it in his responsibilities while overseeing the home to care for the neighboring herd of 12 deer on the estate since early November of the same year.
