Description:
The following item depicts a memo and letter written by Charles Gaylord to Lord Butler. In the letter, Gaylord writes that at an annual meeting for the town that took place on March 17, 1797, Enos Seward and Stephen Harrison were named persons on a committee for particular county business. It does not state what that business is specifically, but there is an additional note by the author that this notice should not have been made return on until another meeting of General return was to be heard in the following month.
This item was originally curated with Series II: the McClintock Family Series, as part of a binder, original number 1.6 Binder: Andrew McClintock Correspondence and Biographical Materials and Photo, 1831-1881. The binder was dissolved in processing the collection and items pertaining to the Susquehanna Claim and General Wyoming Valley Collection moved to corresponding collections.
