Subseries III: Chester Butler Correspondence, 1815-1840

Subsubseries III: Chester Pierce Butler correspondence, 1815-1840 is arranged chronologically and contains correspondence concerning the professional and personal life of Chester Pierce Butler, including stationary cards from events he and his wife, Sarah Anne Hollenback Cist Butler, frequented, considerations and information on the region’s schools, and intimate relationships.

In this subseries we are able to see correspondence from and in reference to individuals such A. L. Stewart, Lord Butler, Francis Rawn Shunk, and signatures and placecards of Ministers Plenipotentiary M. Pageot, Alexandre de Bodisco, and Angel Calderon de la Barca.
