Description:
The following item depicts a photostat of a land survey by Jacob H. Campbell, the surveyor general for Lackawanna township, and signed by the deputy surveyor, William Henry Sturdevant, author of Atlas of the city of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania : compiled from actual surveys, official maps and records, on June 14, 1870. The original warrant for the land was issued on June 6, 1870. It contains 24 acres and 6/10 perches in Lackawanna township, located between the lands of Andrew Henderson on the north and Erastus Smith on the eastern boundary. There was a note that allowances for Roads and such would be the usual six percent on the warrant, but it was crossed out. At the bottom of the document, it is approved by Patrick Blewitt, the county surveyor. The photostat copy was made by an unknown creator, likely during the late nineteenth-early twentieth century.
