Description:

This is a typescript copy of a land deed from Sarah Blanchard, 1804-1892, to the Pennsylvania and New York Canal Company for $900.00 for the surface/right of way on a plot of land on November 10 1888, presumably sold with the buyer’s intention to construct a railroad or extend a current one. It confirms the sale and transfers all rights at the beginning. The land in question is located in Port Blanchard and marked by a small survey-like description of its perimeters, containing 1 acre and 789/1000ths of an acre. However, excepted from this area is any and all coal and minerals that can be found in/under/upon the land sold. The witnesses are marked at the end as Martha Chapman, 1831-1892, and Frank Everett Shiffer.
