Description:
This is a typescript copy of a land deed from Letitia Cortent, 1792-1866, to John Blanchard, 1801-1853, for $500 for a plot of land in Pittston on September 5 1844. The land in question, lot 6, is marked by a small survey-like description of its perimeters and relations to other lots in the area. It confirms the sale and transfers all rights from Cortent to John B. and his descendants, (Jeremiah Blanchard Jr. 1799-1838) as well as witnesses, (Edward L.; Danna E. Carey). There are annotations on the front of the first page and the back of the second, but they are indecipherable. Handwritten math is on the back of the document. The name for Letitia Cortent is copied incorrectly - her surname is actually “Coutant.”
