Description:
The following items depict a typescript of a land deed, dated May 28, 1825, for a property in Pittston. The deed contains a survey of the land, and the release of ownership from the sale. This contract is made by Samuel Saylor to Samuel Billings. Saylor is selling a tract of land containing a half acre of land to Billings for the sum of $250.00. This contract conveys the rights and profits of the land to Billings, with detailed descriptions of the boundaries from a field survey, and makes exceptions to the rights and surface sold in other deeds, such as item 15.124 Item 68, where Saylor sold a section of the same land to Volney Maxwell for rights to laying railroad tracks. The final section of the deed stipulates that all ownership is transferred from the Saylors to Billings, and that the claim is protected from any other or future claims made against it. The deed is witnessed by Caleb Robins and Peter Winter. It was recorded December 29, 1852.
