Description:

This is a typewritten copy of a land deed from Andrew McClintock 1810-1892, to the Pennsylvania Coal Company, for $50.00 for a plot of land on May 24 1860. It starts by outlining the sale of the land from the McClintocks to the company, specifying that both the land and the resources within it (minerals, coal, etc.). It then gives a small survey-like description of the land and its perimeters by way of measurements, being close to lot 6 in Pittston and containing 22 acres and 133 perches. It also addresses the new owner’s rights to dig, mine, build, etc. within the land in the manner they see fit. It finalizes the rights from McClintock and his heirs as well as the company regarding the land by confirming the sale and transferring all rights from McClintock to the Pennsylvania Coal Company and its successors. It lists the witnesses at the end, (Stephen Vaughan 1828-1896, Helen G. McClintock d.1894). Helen is the daughter of Andrew and Augusta.
