Description:

These are typescript copies of a land deed from Theodore Strong, 1820-1907, and his wife, Mary Strong, 1832-1869, to Samuel Saylor. They detail a sale from Strong and wife to Samuel Saylor for several plots of land on February 18 1858. The lands in question are in Plains Township marked by small survey-like descriptions of their perimeters and relations to other lots in the area. The first contains 6 acres and 106 perches, the second has 3 acres and 54 perches but excepts some land that had been sold by Saylor to Odenheimer and Lewis. The end descriptions are a bit more vague yet complicated in their descriptions, possibly saying that the excepted land is one acre that had been previously sold to J[ohn] C. Williams, and then a different sale that included that as well as another plot of land together in a larger tract which had been sold by Saylor and wife to Odenheimer and Lewis along with their wives.
