Description:

This is a typescript copy of a land deed from Mahlon C. Mercur, 1816-1905, to Charles. F. Welles, 1812-1872, for $18,000.00 for a plot of land on November 15th 1865. The lands in question, Lot 2 and Lot 3, are marked by a small survey-like description of its perimeters. It then labels the exceptions to the sale being the lands belonging to others within the area and to whom they sold it to, and then payments for mortgages among them from the sale. It is labeled that it covered “all the several conveyances collectively,” so this perhaps stands as an overall relay of the current property holdings at that time. There is an annotation on the first page labeling it as “DB 119, pg 179”, copying the last page for its location.
