Description:

A typewritten copy of the history of land transactions, presumably of one area. It lists the years, how much land, from who, and who purchased them. Though each has a sale to a company, three list the sales from Sarah Blanchard, suggesting this may have been part of her records. The list concludes with a short land survey. There is a single annotation underlining the year 1888 in red ink. This contains a few typographical errors, but is still very legible despite that and the matters of the ink. The Blanchards were a prominent family of the area in Jenkins Township known as Port Blanchard, which is connected back to Captain Jeremiah Blanchard, one of its first settlers. It is named for one of his children, John Blanchard, and the family was very involved in landowning as seen through the trades and sales their names often show up in.
