Description:

The following item, dated roughly during the twentieth century, depicts a hand drawn family tree for Rebecca Douglass Jennison Chapman and Isaac Abel Chapman. The family tree shows who married who, the issues (or children) had by each pairing, and mentions where certain parties gained power of attorney over their family members. The earliest generation marks that Rebecca remarried after she was widowed, notes some of her children died young or in infancy, and continues to branch farther through Charles Chapman, Dorothy Chapman, and Elizabeth Chapman’s familial lines. It appears that Charles L. Chapman and Dorothy Stets had been signed over power of attorney. There are also archivist notes that mention Eleazar Carey, Rebecca’s second husband, died before Reuben. The date of the item has been roughly dated according to the life dates of the youngest familial line.
