Description:

The following item depicts a postcard captioned, ““Coal Miners; Coming out of Tunnel, ‘Homeward Bound,’” published possibly by the Rotograph Company in the early 1900s. The scene depicts a group of miners and mules exiting a mining tunnel. The tunnel has a sign over it that says 1903 Happy Sports, March 20. The photograph and postcard were made by an unknown creator. The photograph was likely taken close to the date, March 20, 1903. There are other postcards with this similar photograph postdated in the early 1900s, such as one on ebay for sale, dated 1906, and another on Lykens Valley, postdated 1907.
