Description:

The following item depicts a photograph copy of a postcard of The Sterling, Market Street, Hollenback Building, Wilkes Barre, Pa. The postcard depicts the former Hotel Sterling (left), with a view looking up Market Street toward the square. The accompanying copied envelope is addressed by Jack and dated June of 1957. It states that these are early pictures of the area, which appear to be the Wyoming valley, from Paul Vanderber, who is possibly from Wisconsin. The subject has been determined by comparison of another item with the same picture, this postcard referenced on WVIA’s public news website.
