Custodial History

The documents were located in the Harold Cox Archives Room on the third floor of the university archives in December 2012 when arrangement and description of the university archives collections began.

Method of Acquisition

Editions Thirteen - Eighteen and accompanying materials were acquired by Dr. Harold Cox prior to 2012. Editions Twenty-one and Twenty-two were deposited at the library by the Faculty Affairs Committee after their approval by the Board of Trustees and the Faculty.

Appraisal Information

When available, a minimum of two print copies of each revision of the Faculty Handbook and retained in perpetuity, along with a digital preservation copy in PDF. Additional copies are retained when annotations document the revision process. Supporting materials that document the revision process are also retained.

Accruals and Additions

New editions and revisions are regularly added as they are approved by the Faculty and the Board of Trustees.

Related Materials

Faculty meeting minutes and files from the Office of the President labelled "Faculty Handbook" also discuss the Handbook and its revisions.

Processing Information

Many copies of the handbook were donated to the archives with related correspondence tucked inside the book. This correspondence has been removed to separate file folders in the series and the finding aid notes which copy of the handbook the correspondence pertains to. Some copies of the handbook contain annotations that are discussed in the correspondence.
