Scope and Contents

Personnel and Student Locators provide the names, on and off campus addresses, and telephone numbers for Wilkes University students, faculty, and staff from 1965 to 2002. They are also known as Directories.

Conditions Governing Access

Locators contain information that is considered directory information under FERPA. Because the archives does not track student objections to the release of FERPA directory information, the locators themselves are only made accessible to Wilkes University employees as related to their jobs. Any requests for information that is only available in a locator will be forwarded to the Registrar. Archives staff may consult locators on behalf of members of the public when doing so will facilitate the use of other publicly available material, such as yearbooks, but only information provided in the publicly available collections may be provided to members of the public.

Wilkes University holds the copyright to all directories and locators.

Method of Acquisition

The method of acquistion is unknown - they were located in the University Archives in December 2012 when arrangement and description of the collection began.

Appraisal Information

Up to four copies of each version are retained, with relevant additions and inserts left intact.
