Description:

This letter is about Samuel Hunter being unable to send supplies for Sunbury because of the governor’s orders.

Transcription:

Sir I Received instructions from his Excellency Governor Reed, ordering me to stop for the use of the post at Sunbury, all supplies drawn from the commissioners of the counties of Lancaster York and Cumberland, for the garrison at Wyomin, and in consequence of s.d orders I have stoped (sic) two Boats loaded with Flower, and in the meantime sent of an express to Mr. Stewart acquainting him of what I had done that he might write me in what manner he procured this Flower, and for the men to stay here until I need an answer from Mr. Stewart.
