Poor. Slight Vinegar smell. The paper is separated into two halves, as it has torn at a fold. The paper itself is in very poor condition, with the edges being extremely tattered, the paper browning, there being several minor tears and stains, as well as general ink fading. A bottom section of the letter seems to missing from the letter.

This letter, possibly written by Zebulon Butler describes a desperate need for supplies, specifically clothing, before his troops march. A handwritten copy.
Transcription:
Wyoming 22 Jan 1781
Agreabel [sic] to A Resolue of Congress A Relief is come to this post but the Troops at this Post can not march without being furnished with many clothing. & or I have his Exullincy [sic] orders to march them Immediately. I would wish to have them furnish’d with those
Articls [sic] as soon as possabel [sic] as it will be Expensive. Virtually Both Parties head Capt Seling from the free Comand [sic] and Lt Jimkings [John Jenkins] or Spaulding waits on the Bord for A settelment [sic] I wish it could be done that thee Troops mite march without grumbling. Your last rispecting [sic] eCorp Schotts Corps was that the Offices would be Supremacy the first of Janr’y but as those gentelmen [sic] have Rec’d no order Dismission or pay thay [sic] yet look on themselves in Service can only last I wish you to little it and let [Illegible] have
