Poor. The paper is separated into two pieces due to a tear at a fold. The condition of the paper itself is relatively poor as it contains tattered edges, several tears and folds, as well as staining, ink fading, and general signs of age.
Measurements:

Description:
This letter asks Captain Spaulding to move his forces to another place and how to treat civilians on the march.
Transcription:
Sir
in Conjegruemit (sic) at late and at from his Excellency G Washington you will march with the Independent Compy in the most convenient boat
Under your Command to the High Lands in the State of New York or where ever you can find Maj. Genl. Parson’s Division you will wait on Genl Parsons Immediately on your arivel (sic) and take his orders for your further conduct
You will be very carefull on your march to keep your men in good order and Regulation you will se that they do not abuse the Inhabitants nither in parson or property all Commissaries and Q. Masters on your Rout are Desired to furnish you with Provisions Liquor Garrison & wishing you A good march and a safe arivel (sic)
