Description:

This letter written by Revolutionary War veteran Sam Sackett asks Zebulon Butler to confirm that he received money owed to him by John Jenkins and Ryan and if he has not received it, Sackett would prefer Zebulon's son to retrieve the money for him.

Transcription:

Firkhill 17 Aug 1787 D sir, If you have Recd the money due to me from Mr Jenkins & Ryan on their Notes which I put into your hand to obtain of them, would thank you to inform me by the first opportunity. If not be pleased to put them into the hand of your son, & desire him to take such measures as may Recover the same immediately I am D Sir You very humble servt Sam Sackett Col Butler
