Description:

A publication of the history and topography of coal fields in Pennsylvania. This is the published study of Pennsylvania coal by famous 18th century geologist Charles A. Ashburner. Includes a map of the Anthracite coal fields of Pennsylvania. After Ashburner provides a brief history of Anthracite coal in the region, he discusses the supply and origins of coal. His publication includes studies on the geological makeup of coal and compares the burning of anthracite coal to other types of coal. Ashburner concludes the survey by saying that he was unable to find new information on the coal fields.
