Description:

Describes the history of places along the Susquehanna Trail.This booklet introduces itself as telling the history of locations along the Susquehanna Trail such as Baltimore, Gettysburg, Williamsport, Buffalo, and the Niagara Falls to encourage readers to visit the trail. This was written by Thomas W. Lloyd who was the secretary of the Lycoming Historical Society. This book tracks the river trails that go through Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New York and discusses some of the history of the locations. The first chapter is “Bladensburg-Baltimore”. The battles that took place here from the Revolutionary War to the Civil War are discussed. In the war of 1812 there was a battle on August 24, 1814. Admiral Cockburn and General Ross won the battle for England against the American General William H. Winder.
