The Wyoming Monument

Description:

A lithograph of a man and woman looking upon the Wyoming Monument, created by E. L. Dana. The Wyoming Monument is a structure built in 1833 as a common grave for the fallen of the Battle of Wyoming. This event ended in a defeat for the Patriots and was overall an incredibly brutal battle. It is located on Wyoming Ave. in Wyoming, Pennsylvania. This piece was created by Edmund Lovell Dana. Dana was a Civil War Union Brevet Brigadier General and the president of the Osterhout Free Library later in his life.
