Description:

This is a copy of a realist painting of a winter town blanketed with factories. Research has revealed that multiple states exist of this painting and it is unknown which state this depicts. Born of Tuscan descent on April 20, 1850, Jean-François Raffaëlli was a French realist painter, sculptor, and printmaker. He exhibited his work alongside Impressionists and was also an actor and writer. He began his painting career in 1870 and also showed great interest in music and theater. That same year one of his landscape paintings was exhibited at the Salon. He died on February 11, 1924.
